Philippe Reyntjens Photography
Philippe has been a professional photographer for over 20 years. He began doing commercial and aerial photography for advertising agencies in New York City, real estate companies, hotel chains such as the Ritz-Carlton, Pepsi-Cola, Calle-Ocho festivities in Miami, FL, and portrait dossiers for professional performers in the classical music world. Philippe developed and printed his work and contracted with other labs to make Cibachrome prints. In recent years he has broadened his artistic skills to include nature and the environment.
Philippe has been published in New York Magazine and has won several photography awards, participated annually in the Peter Anderson Art Festival, had showings and sold work from several galleries in Ocean Springs, MS. Philippe’s studio and lab in Biloxi, MS was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, and most of his archives lost.
Philippe says, “I have always been fascinated by the intricacies and complexities of nature, the beauty and diversity of old architecture with its history and cultural elements, textures, forms, and shapes. When I began to look at details, which I find most interesting to capture in photography, the beauty surrounding me seemed more meaningful and precious, even in the midst of ruin or destruction.”
